  An Interview with Allan Thompson   Allan Thompson is a Liverpool born former central defender. He joined the Owls in 1967 as an apprentice after captaining the Liverpool Boys team. Allan made his professional debut for Sheffield Wednesday in 1970 and continued to play for the club until 1976, making a total of 167(+6) appearances and scoring four goals. Allan now lives in Nottinghamshire, and it was through the wonders of modern technology that we had a ‘locked-down’ conversation via video link in late 2020. Allan had read ‘Our Lowest Ebb?’ so we began the conversation with a chat about the book and my reasons for writing it before moving on to discuss Allan’s career.
